Tamil actors Dhanush and Nayanthara made headlines once again as they were seen avoiding each other at producer Aakash Baskaran’s wedding. Baskaran who is collaborating with Dhanush for the upcoming film “Idli Kadai” tied the knot this week in a ceremony attended by prominent figures from the Tamil film industry, including Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan.
A video from the wedding has gone viral, showing Dhanush and Nayanthara in the same wedding hall but not engaging with each other. The two stars were seated on opposite ends of the front row, seemingly ignoring each other. While Dhanush focused on the wedding proceedings, Nayanthara was busy interacting with other guests.

This marks the first public appearance of the two actors under the same roof following the fallout from Nayanthara’s open letter addressing Dhanush. The letter had drawn widespread attention and fueled speculation about tensions between the two.
The tensions stem from a legal dispute over the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, which featured behind-the-scenes footage from the making of “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan”. Dhanush who co-produced the 2015 film filed a lawsuit claiming that the footage was used without securing a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
In response, Nayanthara penned an open letter accusing Dhanush of ignoring her requests for the NOC over two years. In addition, she criticised his lack of communication and professionalism.
While Dhanush has not commented on the issue, his father Kasthuri Raja denied Nayanthara’s claims. Speaking to a leading publication, he alleged that her assertion of following up for two years was untrue. Kasthuri also dismissed her allegations of negligence and stated that Dhanush has been busy with his projects.
Additionally, Kasthuri revealed that he was unaware of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s relationship until much after “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” was released, adding another layer to the drama.
Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale was released on Netflix earlier this week and it delves into the actress’s personal and professional lives. The documentary prominently features “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan”, which played a significant role in her relationship with Vignesh Shivan who directed the film.
