Currently, Vinod Kambli is undergoing treatment at Aakriti Hospital in Thane for various health issues. Medical examinations have revealed blood clots in his brain and a urinary tract infection. While his overall condition has improved, doctors have noted a concerning decline in his memory function. Dr. Dwivedi, who is overseeing his treatment, remains optimistic, stating that Vinod Kambli’s memory could be restored to 80-90% of its former capacity with proper care.
Vinod Kambli’s financial struggles have compounded his health challenges. Once estimated to have a net worth of Rs 13 crore, he now relies primarily on a monthly pension of Rs 30,000 from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to support his family. Adding to his difficulties, his wife Andrea Hewitt, revealed that their housing society is pursuing them for Rs 18 lakh in unpaid maintenance fees. Though a political party recently provided Rs 5 lakh in financial assistance, the amount falls short of addressing their mounting debts.
Despite these setbacks, Vinod Kambli has received support from well-wishers who have helped cover his medical expenses. This assistance has allowed him to receive the necessary treatment, resulting in gradual improvements in his health.
