India’s triumph marked their second consecutive ICC title under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, reinforcing their dominance in the white-ball cricket. The team maintained an extraordinary record, winning 22 of their last 23 ICC tournament matches, with their only loss coming in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia.
Rohit Sharma led from the front with a commanding 76-run knock, while KL Rahul’s composed, unbeaten 34 in the tense final moments ensured India successfully chased down the target of 252 with an over to spare.
Despite the New Zealand team’s determined effort and Michael Bracewell’s impressive all-round performance, India once again proved why they are the reigning champions of world cricket.
