A disturbing case has emerged from Haryana’s Hisar district where a 32 years old woman who had gained popularity as a social media influencer (YouTuber) has been accused of m*rdering her husband with the help of her lover. The woman identified as Raveena reportedly strangled her husband Praveen after he caught her in a compromising position with her alleged partner Suresh. The body was later disposed of in a drain, according to police reports.
Raveena had initially connected with Suresh through Instagram and the two soon began collaborating on short-form video content. Despite objections from her husband and his family, the duo continued creating dance reels and videos for over a year and a half. During this period, Raveena amassed a significant following, crossing 34,000 followers on Instagram, and also featured other artists in her YouTube content.
Originally from Rewari’s Joodi village, Raveena was married to Praveen who worked as a driver at a sand and gravel shop. He had been struggling with alcohol dependency and tensions had reportedly been escalating at home due to Raveena’s ongoing involvement in content creation, which her in-laws strongly opposed.
The turning point came on March 25 when Praveen allegedly found Raveena and Suresh in an objectionable position. A fight took place and it is being said that Raveena along with Suresh strangled Praveen and took his life.
In an attempt to cover up the crime, they feigned ignorance when questioned by Praveen’s family and later that night transported his body on a motorcycle. CCTV footage captured the chilling sequence — Raveena seated on the back of the bike, her face covered, and the lifeless body of Praveen wedged between them. Around two hours later, the couple was seen returning — this time without the body.
Praveen’s decomposed remains were recovered from a drain about six kilometres from the couple’s home on March 28. During interrogation, Raveena eventually confessed to the m*rder. Both she and Suresh are now in police custody and have been remanded to jail.
The tragic fallout of the crime has left Praveen’s 6 years old son in the care of his grandfather and uncle. This grim incident follows closely on the heels of another shocking case in Meerut, where a woman and her lover were accused of m*rdering her husband and concealing his dismembered body in a cement-filled drum — an act that stirred public outrage across the country.
