“I Want Name….,” Govinda’s Wife Sunita Reacts To Removing Surname Amid Divorce Rumours

Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja recently stirred online buzz when she removed his surname from her Instagram account, sparking speculation about a possible rift between the couple. However, Sunita has now addressed the chatter, clarifying that the change had nothing to do with their relationship.

While speaking in an interview, she explained that the alteration was made nearly a year ago for numerology reasons. She added an extra ‘s’ to her first name and dropped the surname ‘Ahuja’ from her social media purely based on astrological advice. Laughing about it, she admitted that like everyone, she too wants success and recognition. When asked if the name change brought her any results, she confidently said that her growing popularity online is proof that it’s working.

Sunita also made it clear that she remains an Ahuja and that dropping the surname from her account doesn’t mean she has abandoned it. Dismissing the divorce rumours firmly, she stated that the name would only be left behind when she leaves the world. She stressed that she and Govinda are still a happy family and unless a statement comes directly from them, people should not jump to conclusions.

Govinda and Sunita have been married for 37 years and are parents to two children — Tina and Yashvardan. This isn’t the first time gossip has surrounded their relationship. Last year, similar rumours made the rounds, claiming that Govinda’s alleged closeness with a younger Marathi actress had strained their marriage. The couple later clarified that while they had indeed filed for divorce briefly, they chose to stay together and are continuing their journey as husband and wife.

A representative close to the couple had previously pointed out that Sunita’s comments had been misinterpreted. Even when she said she didn’t want a husband like Govinda in her next life, she also mentioned wanting a son like him. Remarks about Govinda spending Valentine’s Day alone were simply misunderstood as he was actually busy with work. The lawyer insisted that no divorce would happen and that the couple was solid and staying together.

It’s good that Sunita cleared the air and put an end to all the rumours.
