Esha Gupta has put an end to years of speculation surrounding her rumoured romantic involvement with Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. In an interview, the Raaz 3 star revealed that while they did share a short phase of communication, the association never grew into a real relationship. Describing it as an initial stage of getting to know each other, Esha shared that their interaction lasted a couple of months and never went beyond that.
She explained that they were simply in a phase of “maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t,” and by the time they had met once or twice, it had already started fading.
According to Esha, their interaction concluded before it could evolve into what one would typically call dating. When asked whether a real relationship had ever been possible, she acknowledged that it might have but lack of timing and compatibility ensured it didn’t. She added that there were no hard feelings as it simply “wasn’t meant to be”.
The actress also touched upon the period when Hardik Pandya was embroiled in controversy following his remarks on talk show, Koffee With Karan. At the time, many voices from the entertainment industry and sports world criticised the cricketer’s comments for being misogynistic. While Esha had earlier spoken about her disapproval of the tone of the episode, she now explains why she chose not to publicly join in the criticism. By then, she said, she and Pandya were no longer in touch and she felt that adding her voice to the backlash would have served no constructive purpose. According to her, the situation already carried enough public scrutiny and she had matured emotionally to not dwell on it further.
Esha also offered insight into why their connection didn’t deepen. She explained that her idea of a fulfilling relationship is grounded and private, removed from the glare of public attention, something that may not have aligned with Hardik Pandya’s more high-profile, media-driven lifestyle.
On the professional front, Esha was last seen in Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2 on MX Player, where she starred alongside Bobby Deol. She also played the role of DCP Laxmi Rathi in One Day: Justice Delivered. Buzz around the industry hints that she may be joining the cast of the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3, though an official announcement is still awaited.
