Veteran television actor Ram Kapoor, known for his roles in Kasamh Se and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, recently opened up about the importance of smart financial planning in the television industry. While speaking in an interview, he shared his belief that successful TV actors can earn enough to secure the future of several generations, if they handle their money wisely.
Reflecting on his own journey and the careers of some of his peers, Ram explained that fame alone is not enough to guarantee a lasting legacy. He said that when actors like he, Ronit Roy and Sakshi Tanwar reached the top, those who invested smartly continued to thrive, while others who splurged without foresight often vanished from the limelight when work dried up.
He pointed out Ronit Roy as a prime example of how resilience and financial discipline can turn things around. Despite facing initial failure in films and even struggling to afford basic meals, Ronit’s television career flourished after being cast by Ekta Kapoor. Ram admired how Ronit went on to invest in multiple properties, including a beautiful villa in Goa, crediting his past hardships for the maturity he brought to his financial choices.
He also praised Sakshi Tanwar for her sensible approach to money. Unlike him, she isn’t drawn to flashy lifestyle or luxury cars and has managed to save enough to support future generations of her family. According to Ram, being prudent with expenses is essential in the TV industry, where money can be significant if managed with care.
Ram further emphasised the high earning potential in television, revealing that at his peak, he could make what an average person might earn in eight years, all in a single month. However, he stressed that real success lies in knowing how to preserve and grow that income wisely.
Despite these insights, Ram Kapoor has recently found himself at the center of a serious controversy. Just before the release of the detective drama Mistry, he has reportedly been removed from all promotional duties. As per a report, this decision followed an incident at a media event held at JW Marriott, Juhu, on June 19.
Eyewitnesses alleged that Ram made s*xually inappropriate remarks during the event, which made others, including his co-star Mona Singh and platform executives, uncomfortable. Senior officials at the streaming platform have taken swift action in response to the complaints.
