Ranbir Kapoor has long been admired for his effortless charm on screen but beyond the glamour of his performances lies a personality deeply rooted in patience, discipline and curiosity. Known for his calm presence and adaptability, he has earned the respect of his co-stars and directors who often speak about his willingness to push limits for the sake of cinema. His ability to balance star power with humility makes him one of the most dependable actors of his generation.
This very quality was highlighted by veteran producer and actor Boney Kapoor who shared his experience of working with Ranbir during the film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar.
Boney played Ranbir’s father in the film and was left impressed by the actor’s commitment on set. During an interview, Boney explained how Ranbir Kapoor never once complained despite long working hours and changing schedules. He recalled that the team often had to shoot under difficult conditions, including the sweltering summer of Delhi. To cope with the heat, the crew switched to night shoots from nine in the evening until six in the morning. Even with such a demanding schedule, Ranbir remained calm and cooperative, never expressing discomfort.
One particular memory stood out for Boney. Ranbir Kapoor once gave 52 retakes for a single scene, yet maintained his focus and respect toward the crew. Rather than being frustrated, he kept performing until the director was satisfied. Boney Kapoor also shared that when he himself struggled after multiple retakes (12-13), Ranbir encouraged him by saying that an actor’s responsibility is to keep giving their best until the director feels the shot is perfect. For Boney, this patience and professionalism made Ranbir a true delight to work with.
Ranbir Kapoor’s dedication is noticed not only on set but also by fellow actors. Saurabh Sachdeva, who worked alongside him in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, praised his curiosity as an artiste. In a candid chat, Saurabh described Ranbir as someone eager to learn from those around him. He mentioned how Ranbir engaged in long conversations with him, showing genuine interest in his techniques, particularly his work with masks in acting. Ranbir Kapoor even expressed a desire to try it himself, highlighting how his inquisitiveness keeps him growing as a performer. According to Saurabh Sachdeva, curiosity is the strongest quality an artist can have and Ranbir embodies this trait fully.
Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is immersed in the making of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, a film scheduled for release on March 26 next year. The movie, inspired by Raj Kapoor’s iconic classic Sangam, weaves together the complexities of a love triangle against the backdrop of war. True to Bhansali’s storytelling, the film promises a blend of emotional intensity, dramatic visuals and rich human conflict. Adding to the anticipation is the casting of Ranbir Kapoor alongside his real-life wife Alia Bhatt, bringing authenticity to their on-screen romance. With Vicky Kaushal completing the trio, the narrative is expected to be both powerful and compelling.
Through every role and every set experience, Ranbir Kapoor continues to prove that beyond his stardom, it is his patience, curiosity and respect for his craft that truly set him apart.
