The music world started 2026 with a surprise no one was prepared for. Arijit Singh, one of Bollywood’s most loved voices, suddenly announced his retirement from playback singing. There was no buildup, no hints, just a heartfelt decision that left fans stunned and emotional. In the days that followed, singers and composers began sharing their reactions. Among the latest to speak were music composer Lalit Pandit and veteran singer Anuradha Paudwal. Both had thoughtful and heartfelt responses.
Lalit Pandit, who has known Arijit Singh since his early days on the reality show Fame Gurukul, spoke warmly about their long association. He recalled that Arijit recorded his first song for him at Tips after the show.
Later, the young singer even approached Lalit for training and Tips signed him. Lalit said that he recognised Arijit’s talent from the beginning and always believed he had something special. In simple words, he mentioned that it would be wonderful if more singers like him came along.
Continuing his praise, Lalit Pandit said that in his opinion, Arijit Singh is the only truly exceptional singer to have entered the industry in recent years. He explained that Arijit adds something unique to every song, whether it is emotion, style, voice texture or overall finesse. According to Lalit, very few singers have the kind of depth Arijit brings and he feels Arijit outshines everyone.
Anuradha Paudwal also shared her thoughts and called Arijit Singh’s decision a very good one. As per her, he is not someone who works only for fame and that stepping away at the peak of success is never easy. It takes courage, mental strength and clarity to make such a choice.
