India may have cruised to a commanding win over Pakistan but it was a brief on-field confrontation after the final wicket that grabbed almost as much attention as the result itself.
For the eighth time in nine T20 World Cup meetings, India defeated their arch-rivals, this time by a dominant 61-run margin. The victory marked Pakistan’s second heaviest defeat in the tournament’s history and sealed India’s place in the Super Eight stage under skipper Suryakumar Yadav.
However, moments after the match ended, cameras caught a tense exchange involving Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav. As players lined up for the customary handshakes following India-Pakistan clash, Hardik Pandya appeared animated and was seen gesturing toward Kuldeep.
In the now-viral video, Hardik Pandya seemed visibly upset. Star batter Tilak Varma looked on with concern, while Rinku Singh stepped in, attempting to calm the situation and ease tensions between his teammates.

The frustration reportedly stemmed from a dropped catch by Kuldeep Yadav in the final over of Pakistan’s chase, the same over in which the last wicket eventually fell. On the second ball of Hardik Pandya’s over, Shaheen Afridi charged forward and pulled a short ball towards long-on. Positioned near the boundary rope at the R Premadasa Stadium, Kuldeep got both hands to the ball but failed to hold on. The ball slipped through his fingers and went over the cushion for six, briefly extending Pakistan’s innings.

Hardik Pandya reacted immediately, showing visible frustration and was even caught on camera muttering a few expletives in Hindi in the heat of the moment.
Despite the comfortable victory, the brief flare-up added a dramatic twist to an otherwise one-sided contest.
