What was meant to be a high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan quickly turned into a one-sided contest and former cricketer Danish Kaneria did not hold back in his reaction.

Pakistan slumped to a 61-run defeat against India in their T20 World Cup group-stage match on Sunday, February 15, in Colombo. Danish Kaneria openly criticised Salman Ali Agha and his teammates after the loss, expressing frustration at yet another disappointing performance against their arch-rivals.
The match belonged to Ishan Kishan and Jasprit Bumrah. Ishan Kishan smashed a brilliant 77 off just 40 balls on a sticky pitch at the R Premadasa Stadium, powering India to 175/7 after being asked to bat first. Given the tough conditions, it was one of the finest T20I knocks by an Indian batter.
An hour after the match started, a Pakistani X account had posted that the game was being publicly screened in all tehsils of Dera Ghazi Khan in southwestern Punjab. Responding to that tweet, Danish Kaneria wrote, “It really helped everyone witness the reality in high definition.”

Pakistan’s chase never gained momentum. Jasprit Bumrah (2/17) and Hardik Pandya (2/16) tore through the top order, dismissing Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha. Pakistan were bowled out for just 114, turning the much-hyped encounter into a comfortable win for India.
Danish Kaneria even suggested that boycotting the match, something the Pakistan government had earlier proposed in solidarity with Bangladesh, might have been less embarrassing.

With this victory, India now lead 8-1 in the T20 World Cup meetings between the two rivals.
