Sharing his philosophy, Gautam Gambhir said he and India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav strongly believe that trophies are what truly matter, not personal milestones. In simple terms, he wants the team culture to celebrate championships, not statistics.

He emphasised that cricket is a team sport and the ultimate goal is winning titles together, not highlighting individual run tallies or records. He added that he feels fortunate to have a captain like Suryakumar Yadav who shares the same team-first thinking.

Gautam Gambhir played two of the most important innings in the Indian cricket history, a crucial 75 in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2007 and a match-defining 97 in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
Yet, those knocks are often remembered less than iconic moments like MS Dhoni’s title-winning six in 2011 or his bold decision to hand the final over to Joginder Sharma in 2007.
