Jasprit Bumrah has built a reputation for staying ice-cool in high-pressure moments. The 32-year-old fast bowler from Ahmedabad is known for his lethal yorkers, sharp pace, and calm mindset, making him one of the most dependable match-winners in world cricket today.
That reputation shone brightly in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 triumph. Representing the Men in Blue in eight matches, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed 14 batters and consistently delivered when the team needed breakthroughs. His finest moment came in the final against New Zealand national cricket team at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, March 8. He produced a stunning spell of 4 for 15, dismantling the opposition and sealing the contest. The performance earned him the Player of the Match award. Strong spells against Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies and England further highlighted his value throughout the tournament.
Jasprit Bumrah’s heroics impressed Zaheer Abbas, the Pakistan great famously known as the “Asian Bradman”. Praising the Indian pacer, Zaheer Abbas said that Jasprit Bumrah’s impact was extraordinary and he carried the team in crucial moments. He described Bumrah as one of India’s finest bowlers and compared his skill set to that of legendary pacers Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, highlighting his pace, control, swing and deadly finishing ability. Zaheer Abbas went to the extent of calling Jasprit Bumrah a combination of both Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, adding that Bumrah single-handedly won the tournament for his country with his superb performance.
Zaheer Abbas also applauded Sanju Samson for his fearless batting at the top order. Samson smashed three consecutive half-centuries, each crossing 80 runs, giving India explosive starts and steady momentum.
Speaking about the team overall, Zaheer Abbas said India performed like true champions. He congratulated the side for lifting the T20 World Cup for a record third time and said that the victory was fully deserved.
We completely agree with Zaheer Abbas!
