RCB’s victory last season was a long-awaited breakthrough. For 17 years, the franchise had struggled despite having some of the biggest names in cricket. Their transformation came under head coach Andy Flower and director of cricket Mo Bobat, who shifted the team’s approach. Instead of relying only on star power, they focused on building a balanced squad with players who could consistently deliver. That change paid off when RCB defeated Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad to lift their maiden trophy.

At the first training session, Andy Flower welcomed new players and expressed confidence in the squad assembled after the auction. He believes the team has improved and highlighted the importance of blending fresh talent with experienced players like Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar. He also pointed out a proud moment for the franchise, the addition of a championship star on their jerseys.

However, the session wasn’t without notable absences. Pacer Yash Dayal was missing as he is currently dealing with serious allegations, including s*xual harassment and physical abuse.

While the past season brought glory, both Virat Kohli and Andy Flower stressed that it is now history. The focus has shifted to a new challenge — defending the title. With confidence high and expectations even higher, RCB is preparing for what could be its toughest season yet.
