The IPL has seen many young talents rise but what Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is doing at just 15 feels truly special. The teenage batting prodigy once again grabbed attention with a breathtaking knock, racing to a fifty in just 15 balls and leaving fans and experts in disbelief.
Rajasthan Royals could not have asked for a better start to their IPL 2026 campaign, securing a commanding eight-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. While CSK’s bowling lineup featured international names like Matt Henry and Noor Ahmad, it was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who stole the show. The youngster took on both bowlers fearlessly, smashing multiple sixes and putting the game firmly out of Chennai’s reach. His innings ensured that Rajasthan cruised comfortably to the target without much pressure.
After the match, a light and fun moment added to the buzz around him. As the team was boarding the bus, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shared a cheerful exchange with teammate Dhruv Jurel. The senior player praised his performance warmly and in response, the young batter jokingly credited his knock to eating a rajbhog (name of a sweet) before the game, adding a playful twist to his incredible outing.

The performance became even more special considering the timing. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had celebrated his birthday just three days before the match. He revealed that he kept things simple on his birthday, choosing rest over celebrations and skipping even a planned cake-cutting to stay focused.
Speaking after the game, he explained that his approach was clear from the start. The plan was to make the most of the powerplay, especially in a small chase where early momentum can decide the outcome. He admitted that the pitch felt slightly slow at first but improved as the innings progressed, making stroke play easier.
He also shared that while he keeps defence in mind, the focus in this game was to take control early. Backed by the team management, he stuck to his natural attacking style and played according to the situation, which paid off perfectly on the night.
Well played, youngster!
