“I Will Never Produce….,” Did John Abraham Really Slam Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar?

A viral image on social media recently left fans confused, claiming that John Abraham had criticised the blockbuster film Dhurandhar. The post spread quickly, with many believing that the actor had spoken negatively about Ranveer Singh starrer. However, the truth behind this claim tells a completely different story.

The image suggested that John Abraham had expressed concern about films like Dhurandhar and The Kashmir Files, saying that such movies could influence people in the wrong way and he would never want to produce similar content. The statement caught attention because both the films have been widely discussed and hugely successful.

But in reality, John Abraham never made any such comment about Dhurandhar or its sequel. The viral image was completely fake and created only to spread misinformation. There is no record of him speaking about Aditya Dhar-directed film in any interview or public platform.

The confusion likely comes from something John Abraham said earlier but in a different context. After the release of Chhaava last year, he mentioned in an interview that he had not watched the film but knew audiences had appreciated it, along with The Kashmir Files. He shared that films made in a politically charged environment can sometimes influence audiences strongly, which concerns him. He also made it clear that he has never been interested in making such films himself.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2 continues to dominate the box office. The film features a large cast including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera, Danish Iqbal and Saumya Tandon. Ever since its release, it has broken multiple records and built on the success of the first film, which released in 2025.

The movie has received praise from several well-known names in the industry including SS Rajamouli, Rajinikanth, Vijay Deverakonda, Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Ram Gopal Varma, Shankar, Shiva Rajkumar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar.

Globally, the film has now reached a massive Rs 1,435 crore gross. For comparison, Aamir Khan’s Dangal achieved similar numbers in 2017, largely due to its strong performance in China.
