Respect and admiration often define cricket beyond the scoreboard and that was clearly visible after a recent IPL match. Virat Kohli, the star batter of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, once again reminded fans why he is so admired, not just by supporters but by fellow players too.

On Wednesday night, RCB secured a comfortable five-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants. But the biggest talking point came after the match, during a simple interaction that quickly turned emotional.
Young cricketer Naman Tiwari, who is yet to make his senior debut, surprised everyone by bending down to touch Virat Kohli’s feet, a traditional Indian gesture used to show deep respect and seek blessings. Virat Kohli, clearly caught off guard, responded with a warm smile, making the moment both genuine and memorable.

Such moments highlight what the Indian Premier League truly offers beyond competition. For young players, it becomes a platform to meet, learn from, and connect with legends of the game. Virat Kohli, with his years of experience, continues to be seen as a guiding figure for the next generation.
Naman Tiwari, just 20 years old, is a promising left-arm pacer. He was picked by Lucknow Super Giants for ₹1 crore at the IPL mini auction last year. He had earlier represented India in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup, where he impressed by taking 12 wickets in six innings, helping the team finish as runners-up. Known for his pace, he can consistently bowl at speeds of around 145 kmph.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli also made news for another reason during the match. Dealing with a knee issue, he played as an Impact Player for the first time in his IPL career. He did not take the field during LSG’s innings and was not part of the starting XI.
Even so, it was the simple act of respect from a young player that truly captured the spirit of the game.
