Mumbai Indians suffered their fourth straight loss as Punjab Kings chased down a target of 196 in just 16.3 overs, winning comfortably with seven wickets in hand. While the result itself was disappointing, the on-field interaction between Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya has added to the concerns.
In the viral clip, Jasprit Bumrah appeared unhappy with a field-setting decision taken by Hardik Pandya at a crucial moment in the game. The pacer seemed to disagree at first, showing visible frustration. However, he eventually followed the captain’s instructions, though he still looked disappointed. In the same footage, Hardik Pandya was seen actively talking to the fielders, clearly not satisfied with the team’s performance.

After the match, Hardik Pandya openly admitted that the team did not play well and said they need to carefully review what went wrong. He indicated that the team must analyse whether the issues lie with individuals, overall strategy or execution and whether changes are needed going forward.
Despite some strong individual performances, Mumbai couldn’t secure a win. Quinton de Kock scored an impressive century, while Naman Dhir added a half-century. However, the rest of the team struggled. Jasprit Bumrah went wicketless and gave away 41 runs in his four overs. Hardik Pandya himself scored 14 runs off 12 balls and conceded 39 runs in three overs.
Mumbai Indians will now face Gujarat Titans on Monday, April 20, in what has become a must win game for them.
