A single moment of brilliance can outshine an entire match and that’s exactly what Dhruv Jurel delivered at Eden Gardens. Even though Rajasthan Royals lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets in their 2026 Indian Premier League clash, Dhruv Jurel’s incredible wicketkeeping effort became the biggest talking point.
The stunning incident took place during the fifth over of KKR’s chase. Cameron Green was looking dangerous, smashing 27 runs off just 13 balls and putting pressure on Rajasthan early. At that moment, Ravi Bishnoi stepped in with a clever plan.
Bowling a sharp googly down the leg side, Ravi Bishnoi tempted Cameron Green to step out of his crease. The ball spun sharply away, completely beating the batter. It wasn’t an easy take for Dhruv Jurel either, as he briefly lost sight of the ball. But what followed showed his sharp reflexes and awareness.
Dhruv Jurel quickly reacted, diving to his left and collecting the ball cleanly. In one swift motion, while still off balance, he flicked the ball onto the stumps with one hand almost without even looking. Cameron Green, who was well outside his crease, had no chance of getting back. The bails were already off.
The third umpire took a brief look but the replays made it clear, it was a clean and exceptional stumping.

This wicket came at a crucial time. With both KKR openers already dismissed for ducks, Cameron Green’s fall left the team struggling at 37/3. Dhruv Jurel’s effort gave Rajasthan Royals a strong grip on the match and shifted the momentum in their favour.
Although Rajasthan couldn’t hold on to win, Dhruv Jurel’s brilliance did not go unnoticed. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar praised the young wicketkeeper on social media, saying, “Only one stump in sight, on the move, and done in the blink of an eye! Simply magnificent Dhruv Jurel!”
