On the field, Gujarat Titans delivered a strong performance, defeating Chennai Super Kings by 8 wickets. The chase was led brilliantly by Sai Sudharsan, who scored an impressive 87 off just 46 balls. Shubman Gill contributed with a steady 33, while Jos Buttler finished the game with an unbeaten 39.
Despite the comfortable win, Shubman Gill remained realistic about his team’s performance. He shared that while most parts of the game went well, the team still needs to improve how they finish innings, especially in the final few overs. According to him, closing out innings strongly has been a concern and needs attention going forward.
Shubman Gill also spoke about his decision at the toss, admitting he was initially unsure but eventually chose to bowl first. That decision proved effective as GT restricted CSK to 158 for 7. Kagiso Rabada played a key role with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 25 runs and earning the Player of the Match award. He also mentioned that there was some confusion during the bowling changes, especially when Shivam Dube came to bat but overall, the team managed the situation well and stayed in control.
On the other hand, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad admitted that the conditions were not easy to bat on. He explained that the pitch behaved unpredictably, making it difficult for batters to settle in. By the time his team tried to adjust, they had already lost too many wickets.
In the end, it was a dominant win for Gujarat Titans but both the teams walked away with lessons to learn from the game.
