Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s unforgettable IPL 2026 campaign came to a disappointing end on Friday night as Rajasthan Royals were knocked out of the tournament after losing to Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 at Mullanpur. The defeat ended Rajasthan’s hopes of reaching the final, while Gujarat secured a place in the title clash against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday.
After the match, emotional Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen sitting in the dugout as a member of the support staff tried to comfort him following the team’s exit.

The 15 years old cricketer once again produced a stunning performance with the bat. He came agonisingly close to scoring a century, falling just four runs short, and played a major role in helping Rajasthan post a strong total. However, his effort was overshadowed by Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill who smashed a brilliant century and guided his team to a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
Despite Rajasthan’s elimination, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi emerged as one of the biggest success stories of the IPL 2026. Competing alongside some of the world’s best T20 players, the teenager displayed remarkable confidence and maturity throughout the season. He fearlessly attacked top-quality bowling line-ups and finished his first full IPL season with an outstanding 776 runs.
What made his performances even more impressive was the speed at which he scored. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ended the season with a phenomenal strike rate of 237.31 and smashed 72 sixes, the highest number by any batter in a single IPL season. The gap between him and the rest of the field was huge, with Abhishek Sharma finishing second with 43 sixes and RCB captain Rajat Patidar third with 41.
The young star wrapped up a memorable campaign with one century and three scores in the nineties, firmly establishing himself as one of the standout performers of the IPL 2026.
