We all know who the kings of ODI cricket are when it comes to big records. Virat Kohli holds the record for the most centuries in ODI cricket with 51 hundreds. Right behind him is Sachin Tendulkar with 49 centuries. Sachin also has another massive record – he has scored the most runs in the ODI history with 18,426 runs, which is still very difficult for any batsman to break.
But there is another very interesting record which is completely opposite. This record is for the players who have scored the most runs in ODIs but have never scored a century. And in this list, Pakistani players are on top, with 3 of them in the top 5.
At number one is Pakistan’s former captain Misbah-ul-Haq. He scored 5,122 runs in 162 ODI matches between 2002 and 2015 but his highest score was 96 not out. He played 149 innings in ODIs without a single hundred. In his career, he hit 42 fifties, 342 fours and 83 sixes.
Second on the list is another Pakistani legend Wasim Akram. He scored 3,717 runs in 356 ODIs without ever scoring a century. His best score was 86 and he made only six fifties.
Next is Pakistan’s Moin Khan at number three; he scored 3,266 runs in 219 ODIs from 1990 to 2004, with 12 fifties to his name. At number four is Zimbabwe’s Heath Streak who scored 2,943 runs in 189 ODIs without a century. He played 189 matches, scored 13 fifties and his best score was 79 not out.
At number five is India’s own all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Since his ODI debut in 2009, he has scored 2,806 runs. His highest score is 87 and he has scored 13 fifties in 137 innings. Jadeja is known for his amazing fielding, brilliant bowling and explosive batting and he plays a very important role in India’s success. He will also be seen in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa this month.
