Life has come full circle for Rhea Chakraborty, and she is finally talking about it openly. The actress, who is now seen as a contestant on The Traitors Season 2, recently appeared on Farah Khan’s YouTube cooking vlog. There she shared a painful personal story that happened because of Sushant Singh Rajput’s case in 2020.
Rhea Chakraborty said that 2020 was the toughest year of her life. After the de*th of her then-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, she was not in the news for her work but for the controversy around his de*th. She had to face a very harsh media trial. Both she and her brother Showik Chakraborty were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drugs-related case connected to Sushant Singh’s de*th.
On Farah’s vlog, Rhea Chakraborty revealed how her family also suffered. She said her father had got a very big offer to work as a medical superintendent at a big hospital in the city. But when the hospital found out his last name, they refused to give him the job. They told him that because he is Rhea Chakraborty’s father, he cannot work there.

In The Traitors show also, Rhea talked about her past. When fellow contestant Karan asked her if she would like to be an Innocent or a Traitor in the game, she immediately said she wants to be an Innocent. She explained in Hindi that she has just got a clean chit this year and people have finally understood that she is innocent. She said she has lived under suspicion for many years and she did not like that feeling at all. She was referring to the 5 years of scrutiny and blame she faced after 2020.
What Happened After Sushant’s De*th?
After Sushant Singh Rajput’s de*th, Rhea Chakraborty went through a very hard time. Apart from police and agency investigations, she faced a social boycott and even had to spend time in jail. The NCB had arrested Rhea and her brother Showik in the drug case linked to Sushant’s case.
Later, she got relief when the CBI submitted its closure report in Sushant’s de*th case and she was cleared of all charges. Rhea Chakraborty has earlier shared that this whole period badly affected her mental health and she suffered from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).
