Actor and former WWE wrestler Saurav Gurjar, known for playing Bheem in Mahabharat and appearing in Brahmastra, has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody after a woman filed a complaint alleging deception and harassment linked to a promise of marriage. The allegations are being investigated and have not been established in court.
According to the complaint, the woman first connected with Saurav Gurjar through Instagram in 2021 and later became close to him through WhatsApp. She alleged that they first met in person on December 25, 2021, and that he assured her that he would marry her and give her rights similar to those of a wife.
The woman claimed that their relationship continued while she was living in the United States and after she returned to India. She also alleged that he convinced her to quit her job in the US, saying that they would start a business together in India.
According to her complaint, whenever she questioned Saurav Gurjar about marriage, he would allegedly block her phone number and distance himself. She further claimed that he stayed with her from October 2025 to March 2026, after which he allegedly disappeared without informing her.
The Gachibowli police registered a case and began investigating the allegations. Police detained Saurav Gurjar at Mumbai airport and brought him to Hyderabad for further legal proceedings. He was later produced before a magistrate and sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
Saurav Gurjar is a professional wrestler and actor who became widely known for playing Bheem in the TV show Mahabharat, which aired from 2013 to 2014. Wrestling was his childhood dream. Around 14 years ago, he moved from his hometown Gwalior to Mumbai with hopes of building a career in the entertainment and wrestling world.
Before his film debut, Saurav Gurjar also appeared as Ravan and Bali in Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman between 2016 and 2017. He later made his Bollywood debut with Brahmastra, released in 2022. He has also been associated with WWE, where he performed as Sanga.
In 2019, Saurav Gurjar spoke about his journey and revealed that he had signed contracts with WWE and Brahmastra on the same day in 2018. Initially, he was hesitant about taking up the film because his main focus was wrestling. However, after meeting director Ayan Mukerji, he agreed to join the project.
The decision was complicated because Saurav Gurjar already had a WWE contract. According to the actor, Ayan Mukerji explained that working in the film could also help his wrestling career. WWE also reportedly agreed that the movie could help build his market and profile.
The current case remains under investigation and the allegations made in the complaint are yet to be proven in court. Let’s see till when the truth will come out.
