The next generation of Indian cricket is making headlines, and Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay Dravid has delivered another impressive performance. The wicketkeeper-batter is leading Karnataka in the 2026 Vinoo Mankad Trophy and recently played a key role in his team’s massive victory over Delhi, led by Aaryavir Sehwag, the elder son of former India opener Virender Sehwag.
On Monday, October 12, Anvay Dravid smashed an unbeaten 85 off just 41 balls to help Karnataka defeat Delhi by 198 runs. The match was played at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Batting first, Karnataka posted a huge total of 418/5 in their allotted 50 overs. Anvay’s explosive innings included seven fours and five sixes, adding valuable runs to an already impressive team total.
Several other Karnataka batters also played important roles. Opener R Rohith Reddy scored 70 off 84 balls, while his opening partner Nitish Arya made 111 off 109 deliveries. Dhruv Krishnan contributed another big knock, smashing 103 off just 51 balls while batting at No. 3.

Anvay came in at No. 4 and formed a crucial partnership with Dhruv. The pair added 130 runs for the third wicket in just 10.1 overs, putting Delhi’s bowling attack under tremendous pressure. Anvay later shared another 57-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Aniketh Reddy, who scored 25 off 13 balls while batting at No. 5.
Chasing a target of 419, Delhi struggled to keep up with the required run rate and were bowled out for 220 in 41.1 overs. Aaryavir Sehwag opened the innings for Delhi and scored 32 off 35 balls, hitting five fours. However, he also played 20 dot balls during his stay at the crease. Wicketkeeper Abhiraj Gagan Singh offered some resistance with 59 off 66 balls at No. 6, while Uday Chawla contributed 32 runs.
Dhyaan M Hiremath was the standout bowler for Karnataka, claiming five wickets in the second innings. One of his important breakthroughs was the wicket of Aaryavir, further strengthening Karnataka’s position in the match.
Anvay’s latest performance comes after an impressive recovery from a modest start to the tournament. In Karnataka’s opening match against Jharkhand on October 8, he scored 18 off 29 balls at the Dr. PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram.
However, he returned to form in the next match against Chandigarh on October 10 at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium. Anvay smashed 102 off just 62 balls, batting at a strike rate of 168. His century included seven fours and five sixes. He followed that hundred with another attacking innings against Delhi, scoring an unbeaten 85 off 41 deliveries.
With a century against Chandigarh and a quickfire 85 against Delhi in consecutive matches, Anvay Dravid has made an encouraging start to the 2026 Vinoo Mankad Trophy. His performances will attract attention as the son of former India captain and legendary batter Rahul Dravid continues to develop his own identity in age-group cricket.
