Actress Niti Taylor has opened up about an uncomfortable experience from her early days in the film industry, alleging that a director once asked her to sleep with him in exchange for a role in his next movie. The actress, who has appeared in several Hindi television shows and two South Indian films, said the incident left her shocked and prompted her to block the director’s number.

In a recent interview, Niti Taylor recalled how the director who had worked with her on her first film approached her for another project. However, she alleged that he made the casting offer conditional on her agreeing to have a s*xual relationship with him.
Niti Taylor said she was taken aback by the unexpected demand. She immediately ended the call, blocked his number and contacted her mother to share what had happened. The actress expressed disbelief at the director’s behaviour, particularly given that she had already worked with him professionally.
Niti Taylor also revealed that she had previously seen the director with other women but had never expected him to make such a demand from her. The experience left her so disturbed that she decided she would never work in films again. She added that she did not tell anyone else about the incident at the time because she was too shocked to process what had happened.

Although Niti Taylor did not reveal the director’s name, social media users began speculating about his identity after a video of the interview was shared on Reddit. Some speculated that it could be Telugu filmmaker Trinadha Rao Nakkina, who directed Niti’s Telugu film debut, Mem Vayasuku Vacham, in 2012. However, Niti has not named him and the speculation remains unverified.
The actress’ account sparked angry reactions online, with several users discussing the casting couch problem in the entertainment industry. One user pointed out that women may lose professional opportunities because some men expect s*xual favours in return for career advancement. Another user claimed that casting couch practices were widespread in the Telugu film industry, commonly known as Tollywood.
Niti Taylor’s allegations have emerged amid a broader debate about the portrayal of women in South Indian cinema. Over the past few weeks, several people have raised concerns about how female characters are depicted in Tamil and Telugu films, particularly regarding their s*xualisation.

More recently, Janhvi Kapoor’s portrayal in Peddi, the upcoming film starring Ram Charan, faced considerable criticism over what some viewers described as excessive s*xualisation.
Niti Taylor’s account has added to the ongoing conversation about women’s experiences in the entertainment industry, the casting couch and the expectations placed on actresses seeking opportunities in films.
