According to the police, Venkatappa (65) had two wives and as a result there were continuous fights and arguments in the family. His first wife (50-year-old) recently left home with her daughter and vowed to return only if her husband ended his other affair. On being so-called insulted, Venkatappa swore in public that he would defame his wife for abandoning him. He also told her that he will not leave his second wife at any cost.
