The judiciary in India keeps on passing judgement which astonishes us and lose faith. But this court in Rohtak has given us all the reasons to be proud of. When all the criminals were thinking that Indian judicial has no power, a fast-track court in Haryana’s Rohtak proved all of them wrong.
One more Nirbhaya case was repeated in Rohtak, where 7 men raped a Nepali girl and went on to murder her. Just like the 2012 Delhi gang rape case, it also involved brutality and involvement of minor. The Nepali girl was reported missing from February 1. Her body was found three days after, with blades, stones, condoms and pieces of a stick stuffed in her private parts. Based on circumstantial evidence as there were no eyewitnesses, Additional district and sessions judge Seema Singhal called the case a rarest of rare and announced her decision for death sentence.
The 7 rapist Padam Singh, 39, Manvir Singh, 21, Sarvar Kumar, 30, Rajesh Kumar, 21, Pawan Kumar, 26, Sunil Kumar, 24 and Sunil Kumar, 37 have also been charged with a fine of Rs.1.5 Lakh each. An additional charge Rs 50,000 has been fined on Rajesh, who was held guilty of unnatural act with the victim before her murder.
A total of 57 people supported in favor of the prosecution while there were 3 people who gave statement in favor of the accused. The police initially believe Rajesh Kumar to be of 21-years but the juvenile advocate, Deepak Bhardwaj interrupted and it stands that he is just 15 years old.
“The medical board had suggested his age to be between 14 and 16 years while the documents brought from Nepal mentioned his age as 15 years,” said Bhardwaj.
