Social media users leave no opportunity of making fun of political leaders and we have come across many incidents of the same frequently. A good number of jokes have been cracked on some of the leaders and often, morphed photos are also circulated to troll them. However, this fun activity can sometimes result in problem for the social media users as two persons from MP have been taken into custody for sharing a morphed photo of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.
On Wednesday, police arrested Wasim Sheikh (20) and Shaqir Banthia (22) from Khargone, MP, on the charges of sharing a morphed photo which shows Mohan Bhagwat’s upper body added with the lower body of a woman wearing brown pant. RSS has just recently changed its dress code and replaced pants with shorts; this image was an effort to make fun of this change made by RSS.
On Friday, they were presented in front of the Magistrate of sessions court and granted bail; however, earlier the court had denied bail to both of them.
According to Amit Singh, Superintendent of Police, the accused are saying that they have just forwarded the image on a WhatsApp group but they have not created it. Local Congress leaders protested the arrest of two leaders and also sent a delegation to meet the Additional SP under the leadership of Parasram Dandir.
