‘Azhar’, the movie featuring Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri and Emraan Hashmi has been very appreciated, owing to it being a combination of 2 biggest passions in India, Cricket and Bollywood. On its opening day, the movie managed to collect 6.30 crores.
On the 2nd day, being a weekend as well as a bank holiday, the movie took pace and witnessed a higher occupancy. However, collections weren’t as per the expectations, as everyone thought the movie would definitely cross 10 crores.
‘Azhar’ had received mixed reviews from audience as well as the critics and Emraan’s performance was quite appreciated. Audience said Emraan did complete justice to his character.

Yes, the movie collected 7 crores on Saturday! As compared to Friday, a 11.1 percent growth has been seen in Saturday collections. However, the growth is quite less, considering it was a weekend. The movie has not performed quite well overseas too.
Before release, it seemed that the movie would cross the 100 crore mark, but with such poor collections, even 50 crores seems difficult. Hope for the best !
