This 16 year old girl scored a 8.6 CGPA in her 10th class CBSE exams. Obviously, this is something to rejoice, but unfortunately she is no more to celebrate this happiness! Yes, 16 year old Kejal Pandey, a girl from Thane, lost her life last month in a road accident.
She was riding a 2-wheeler, with her mom sitting behind. However, a car tried overtaking her and it knocked her off the vehicle. Kejal was left with irreversible brain damage and doctors declared her as brain dead. While trying to cope up with this tragedy, Kejal’s mom and dad took the decision of donating her liver and kidneys. And yes, these organs have helped in giving life to 3 people, which also includes a 14 year old from Mumbra.
Kejal’s father, Shyamakant Pandey stated,
“It is so hard to get used to the fact that she is not here anymore. By donating her organs we feel like she’s still alive and amongst us. We didn’t have the heart to check her result.”
On the other hand, her younger brother is in complete state of shock. He keeps thinking as to how Kejal used to help him with his studies.
Being a student of Arunodaya Public Thane, Kejal was a bright student and she not only excelled in academics but also in sports and dance.
The principal of the school, Madhuri Chandrashekar stated,
“She was an all-rounder and a very bright child. She has been with the school for several years and was always a very well-mannered child.”
Her classmate and best friend Madhura says,
“She died almost 10 days before her birthday. She was always full of life, entertaining everyone. She was my best friend and it is so hard to not have her around.”
Her father still can’t believe she is gone. He says,
“She planned to take up commerce and become a Chartered Accountant. She was so firm about what she wanted and she always achieved it. She once told me she wanted to be successful and be the head of whichever firm she worked at. Sadly, it doesn’t matter now.”
