Well, at a Press Conference which was held with regards to the success of ‘Housefull 3’, some reporters asked the cast about what they think about the controversies surrounding ‘Udta Punjab’.
On being asked, Akshay Kumar stated
“I want Chunky Pandey sahab to give the answer to this question. His first film ‘Aag Hi Aag’ was made by Pahlaj ji (Nihalani).”
Yes, Chunky’s first movie was made by Pahlaj Nihalani, the Chief of CBFC, who is mainly responsible for these cuts in ‘Udta Punjab.’
On this Chunky said
“Pahlaj ji is my godfather in the film industry and he gave me birth in the film industry. Nowadays, numerous people call me related to him, I’m very proud of him.”
Further he laughed and said
“As far as ‘Udta Punjab’ is concerned, I haven’t seen the film but ‘udte toh tote hain, Punjab kaha se udta hai’ (It’s the parrots that fly, not Punjab). But I don’t know; I can’t tell anything about him,”

Moreover, talking about the Udta Punjab’s song rapped by Farhad Samji, which had words like Maa Behan, Chunky stated “I hope Pahlaj ji is not listening to this.”
