2016 has been pretty rewarding for Akshay Kumar. Yes, ‘Airlift’ his January release is considered to be the highest grosser of 2016 and then comes ‘Housefull 3’ which has collected enormous sums at the Box Office.
Now, at the success bash that was hosted by ‘Housefull 3’ team, there were many questions that media wanted to ask. Every thing seemed pretty fine at the Press Conference, but suddenly Akshay Kumar burst into tears at the last question.
Yes, when a reporter asked Akshay as to how it feels on not getting any awards at esteemed functions despite huge earnings for the movie, Akshay Kumar pretended to cry and said;
“Award… (wiping away his tears with a handkerchief passed on by co-star Riteish Deshmukh) award kabhie nai milta hai (I never get awards).”
Now, everyone present there burst into laughter. Later, Akshay seriously stated that he doesn’t have a problem, further adding that “It is okay if I don’t get awards, but I get rewards.”
On asking Akshay as to whether he feels awards are pre-decided, Akshay stated;
“Haan, do baar maine kiya hai. Bina lifafa khole jo saamne baitha hai usko de diya”; sending another laughter wave in the precincts.”
When asked about striking a balance between diverse roles, the actor says;
“When I like the script, I just go ahead with it. Anybody can do it. When I came in the industry I was called furniture when I used to act. So if I can do it, anyone can do it.”
