A Class 10 girl, all of just 16 became victim to MMS Video and ended her life because of the harassment she had to face. The Dalit girl was filmed by her neighbor naked while she was taking bath. M. Mahesh, 22, recorded the video using his mobile and later send the videos and photos through an internet café owned by his friend K. Ramesh, 25 in Kanimella village.
The culprits blackmailed and threatened to upload the video online and asked for sexual favors from the girl. As a result of continuous sexual harassment the youngster decided to end her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan on March 7 at Malyada village under Nellimarla mandal in Vizianagaram district. When the parents of the victim came to know about the incident they went to the village elders for justice. The decision by the elders was obviously not justified, they asked the two men along with another one, who was supporting Ramesh and Mahesh, to give Rs.30, 000 each to the girl’s family.
Undeterred for appropriate justice, the parents refused to accept a single penny. Rather now they have reported the case to the police and is waiting for the justice.
“We have registered a case against the three and are investigating the case.” said, K. Srinivas sub-inspector of Nellimarka.
