While TOH was announced as Diwali 2018 release much earlier, 2.0 has gone through continued delays. Now the latest reports suggest that film has been again delayed and will release on Diwali this year. This means the big festival will see the dangerous clash of 2.0 and Thugs Of Hindostan.

The reports have sent a wave of fear in the industry. Both the films are biggest bets of 2018 and are expected to spin huge money for the producers and distributors But if they clash, the business of both films will be affected and along with the producers whole industry will be on the losing side.

Speaking about the big clash Aamir Khan today said that the clash will indeed affect both films but it’s not possible to avoid it. He said-

“See, it comes back to the same problem that we have only 5,000 screens in India. Any producer of a big film would want the maximum screens for it. So, a clash definitely affects the films. As far as possible, that should be avoided. But sometimes, it isn’t possible to avoid. Ab main Diwali pe aa raha hoon. Nahi aa paata toh kab aaoon? There are already films lined up for Christmas. Meri bhi majboori hai. Given a choice, no one would want to clash.”

At the same time, he admitted that he’s quite flexible and there’s no clash of egos. He said-

“There’s no ego that I just have to release on a certain date. Agar mein hatt sakta hoon, toh hatt jaaoonga. Because a clash affects both films equally. Ultimately, we are all friends in the industry. So if we can help each other, we do.”

He further added-

“When Secret Superstar released, we clashed with Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again. When the first day collections came, I realised they were doing much better than us. I called Rohit the same evening and offered him screens that I’m not using. Mujhe screens rakh ke achaar thoda banana hai.”

We hope the clash averts and both films do maximum business at the Box Office. What are your thoughts?
