New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been very vocal against the decision of demonetization taken by the Central government and now he has got something to support his stand.
In the APMC polls, out of total 18 seats, AAP has won 14 seats across the seven wholesale mandis in Delhi and the party is declaring it as a mandate against demonetization.
The result of these mandi elections is the first setback for BJP and Modi government after demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes has been announced.
Gopal Rai, the Delhi Labour Minister, has called it people’s decision against demonetization while Dilip Pandey, AAP Delhi convenor, has referred to it as “semifinal” to the final match of MCD polls.
APMC stands for Agricultural Produce Market Committee and it works towards handling of sabzi mandis properly in Delhi.
Even though AAP has been calling these results as mandate against demonetization, when BJP won Delhi Cantt polls before 2015 Assembly polls, AAP ignored the matter and said that state polls have nothing to do with these results.
