His knock included eight crisp fours and two towering sixes, giving India a flying start. With this innings, Abhishek Sharma became the third Indian after Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma to cross fifty in under 25 balls on six occasions in T20 internationals. Globally, Abhishek Sharma joined an elite list of batters from full-member nations who have crossed the 300-run mark in a T20I series or tournament. This group includes Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan and Mahela Jayawardene, India’s Virat Kohli, Australia’s Aaron Finch, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, and England’s Phil Salt.
Adding to his remarkable run, Abhishek Sharma has now scored three consecutive fifties for India in the Asia Cup 2025, making him the sixth Indian batter to achieve this after Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer. With such form, Abhishek Sharma is not just rewriting records but also establishing himself as the backbone of India’s T20 batting lineup.
