Team India stars Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Axar Patel gave fans a glimpse of their off-field camaraderie in a fun social media moment that has now gone viral. The trio appeared in a playful video after Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi briefly took over Axar Patel’s Snapchat account to interact with fans.
In the video, the three cricketers are seen sitting together as Abhishek Sharma jokingly announces that he has taken control of Axar Patel’s phone. He tells viewers that he has already gone through all the questions sent by fans before asking Axar if all the answers were ready.
Axar Patel, laughing in the background, encouraged Abhishek to answer the questions himself and tell fans that he had already read everything. The light-hearted exchange left the group smiling throughout the video.
Abhishek Sharma then turned the camera towards Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and asked fans to send questions for the young batter as well. Responding with confidence, the 15-year-old joked that fans should send long questions because he would explain everything in detail. His witty reply quickly caught fans’ attention and added to the video’s popularity across social media platforms.
The clip has since been widely shared beyond Snapchat, with cricket fans enjoying the relaxed and humorous side of the Indian players.
Many Indian cricketers have recently started using Snapchat to connect with fans, following a trend also seen in football. Erling Haaland is among the biggest sports stars actively using the platform. Many believe Snapchat’s disappearing posts and casual style allow athletes and celebrities to share everyday moments, use fun filters and show a more natural side of their personalities, helping them connect better with younger audiences.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma appears to have taken on the role of a mentor for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The two opening batters have often been spotted together since the teenager joined the Indian squad. With questions continuing to be raised over Sanju Samson’s form, there is growing speculation that Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could open the innings together in Saturday’s second T20I against England.
