The talented Indian cricketer and former skipper MS Dhoni is going through a rough patch as his bat is not doing the talking as it used to do earlier. His poor form is being used as a base by his critics for making demand of his ouster from the team.
However, we all know that Dhoni’s presence matters a lot in the team even if he is not scoring runs but it is also true that he can’t remain in the team just because of his experience. One more thing that is going against him is that a couple of young Indian wicketkeepers are knocking the doors of India dressing room after performing great with both bat and gloves.
There is no doubt that age is having an effect on him but his wicket-keeping has not slowed down even a bit. The former Indian skipper is getting full support from some of the former players such as AB de Villiers who will love to have Dhoni in his team even if he turns 80 or is on a wheelchair.
After AB, now another South African player Jhonty Rhodes has come in support of the Jharkhand cricketer and said that Dhoni’s contribution to the national side would be very important. He said that tips from Dhoni have helped many young bowlers in sorting their line and length and many have achieved success with his help.
What is your opinion on this matter? Should Dhoni play in 2019 World Cup or not? Let us know.
