Just like the terms and conditions of an online agreement, we always tend to ignore the rules of traffic. We all fear from traffic police but we have learnt ways to dodge them and provide ourselves insulation. Some of us have also made a peace with the daily fine that we have to pay for riding vehicles in the wrong direction or having no helmet.
But no more! No more, at least in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The traffic police department of Ahmedabad along with RTO has come to a fix which will not let anyone drive on the wrong side.
What’s the update?
From now on those who will be caught driving on the wrong side of the road will be slammed with a periodic suspension of licence and it will range from 3-6 months. But that’s just for those who are first-time offenders. If you do it twice, you’ll have to say bye to your license forever as you will be forever banned for driving.
What were the rules previously?
Earlier the license uses to get suspended if a person offended the rules 5 times. But now with the change in rules, traffic police can recommend RTO to do it if a person breaks the rule twice.
Guess what? 7 driving licenses have been already cancelled. Are you next?
