With so many movies being made, Box Office clashes have become simply unavoidable. We have witnessed many such clashes but the latest one which has become a hot topic of discussion is between Akshay Kumar starrer “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” and SRK and Anushka Sharma starrer tentatively titled “Ring” or “Rehnuma”. Both the flicks will hit the screens on the Independence day weekend i.e. on 11th of August 2017.

Shah Rukh Khan has been criticized for his attitude of releasing his movie with another big one; we had seen how Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan were not very happy with SRK releasing Raees along with Kaabil.

Earlier there was news that Imtiaz Ali is probably shifting the release date to avoid the clash, but later, there was a confirmation from Taran Adarsh and SRK that the clash is happening.

After this, everyone was eager to know Akshay Kumar’s reaction. Instead of being frustrated, the Khiladi gave a logical statement.

Talking about the clash, he said,

“My film is coming on August 11 because it’s a big date and an opportune time. Besides, Independence Day, there is another holiday in the same week. Such long weekends can easily take two big releases. Ghayal and Dil clashed, as did Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Lagaan

When the reporter asked Akshay about the clash affecting his relation with SRK, he coolly said,

“Box-office clashes are professional hazards and ideally they should not have any personal implications. In a situation where we have 200 movies to be accommodated in 52 weeks, clashes have become unavoidable.”

The actor laughed and said that he won’t go on a war with SRK. This is the 3rd time Akshay and SRK will clash; first it was Veer Zaara and Aitraaz in 2004 and then it was Don and Jaan-E-Mann in 2006.

Akshay’s response shows that he has confidence in his movies and also reflects his maturity level. What do you feel about this?
