Before the camera officially rolls on her big Bollywood journey, Simar Bhatia has already found herself in the spotlight and for all the right reasons. With a mix of confidence, charm and warmth, Akshay Kumar’s niece is stepping into the film world with an ease that has caught the industry’s attention. Even ahead of her first release, she is being welcomed by some of Hindi cinema’s biggest names.

Simar Bhatia is all set to make her big-screen debut with Sriram Raghavan’s much-anticipated film Ikkis, where she stars opposite Agastya Nanda. The film is scheduled to release on January 1, 2026, and the makers recently unveiled the final trailer on Friday, December 19. The trailer received praise from several members of the film fraternity, with many calling it powerful and moving. The film holds emotional value as well, as it marks veteran actor Dharmendra’s final appearance on screen. Actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol were among the many celebrities who shared the trailer and applauded the biopic based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, PVC.

Among those who welcomed Simar into the movies was filmmaker Karan Johar. Sharing the trailer on his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “SOLID!!!! Rooting for you Aggy!!!! Welcome to the movies @simarbhatia18…you’re gorgeous!!!” Simar reshared his message and responded with a playful sense of humour that instantly won fans over. She wrote, “Thank you sir. Phir mujhe Dharma ka picture kyun nahin diya?” Her light-hearted reply quickly went viral, with many praising her confidence and ability to laugh at herself.

For those unaware, Simar is the daughter of Akshay Kumar’s sister Alka Bhatia and has been quietly preparing for her entry into films for some time now.
Earlier this month, Akshay Kumar shared an emotional note for his niece as she took her first steps into the industry. He wrote, “Holding you as a tiny baby to now watching you step into the world of films… life really has come full circle… I’m so proud of you beta… The world is about to meet Simar Bhatia … but to me you’ve always been a star. Go shine! Jai Mahadev.”

Simar responded with equal emotion, writing, “I will never be able fully express what your support and love mean to me… Thank you, MA MA. I love you more than words can ever say.”

With such strong support and an impressive first impression, Simar Bhatia’s journey has clearly begun on a heartfelt and promising note.
All the best, Simar Bhatia!
