Nepotism in Bollywood is one of the most burning topics of debate which doesn’t seem to end any sooner. In fact, after the release of “Dhadak” that stars Boney Kapoor and late Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi and Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar in the lead roles, it’s once again heated up.

Social media got flooded with jokes, memes and slamming comments and Janhvi even responded to haters, asking a chance to prove her caliber.

Time and again, actors as well as filmmakers are asked questions on nepotism ever since B-Town’s Queen Kangana Ranaut called moviemaker Karan Johar “the flagbearer of nepotism”.

Alia made her debut in Bollywood with KJo’s “Student Of The Year” and after that, there was no looking back for her. Her acting skills got refined with each movie and presently she is counted among the best actresses of the industry.

In recent times, Alia Bhatt was also asked to express her views on it and we must say that instead of being diplomatic, she gave a rational reply which is satisfactory to a large extent.

In the words of Alia,

“Of late, I have realised that there is no need to defend the nepotistic nature of the industry because it does exist. The reason why it has become an emotional debate is because it is difficult for those who don’t get a chance.”

The actress told Times Of India,

“If I was on the other side, I would be heartbroken. I may have felt the same way. Yes, it does exist everywhere, but this is the only business where there’s no fixed funda. You need to be at the right place at the right time. For instance, if you want to be a doctor, you study, give your examination and get a job. In the film business, you can do whatever you want, but there has to be that X-factor that people talk about. There are so many people who come from nowhere and make it big purely on the basis of their presence and what they bring to the screen.”

Do you agree with Alia? What is your take on nepotism in Bollywood? Let us know.
