An ambulance with a heart attack patient was halted by the policemen for 20 minutes on the expressway in Kolkata as there was a chance of the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee passing by from there. The relative of the patient pleaded and even begged in front of police with folded hands to let them go to hospital but this doesn’t had an effect on the on duty policemen and even one policeman went into the ambulance, checked the pulse of the patient and declared that she could wait for CM to pass by.
This insensitive incident took place when CM Mamata was returning from Digha in East Midnapore and police was not sure whether she will take aerial route or road route. In the end, CM took aerial route, stopping the patient for nothing.
