Donald Trump is the First Sore Loser to Be Elected President in America’s history. What that means is, he had a lesser share of votes, 46% of them, and yet won the elections to become America’s president. Ever since he took over his presidential duties at White House, Americans have constantly denied accepting him as their president. After the recent Muslim ban imposed by Trump, the denial has turned into some serious protests.
However, a group of Americans have also moved on to support Muslims instead of opposing Trump. In a graceful gesture of humanity and unity, Americans donated a massive $945,000+ in just two days to rebuild a mosque that was burnt down on Saturday soon after the immigration ban was declared.
The fire was discovered by a clerk working in a nearby convenience store at the Islamic Centre of Victoria at around 2:00am (as per the American Standard Time) on Saturday. The clerk reported the incident instantly and called the fire department for support. The fire department made sure that the fire got distinguished in about four hours without any damage to human lives.
A fundraising campaign was initiated soon after to get the rebuilding work on roll. Omar Rachid, who created the campaign GoFundMe was overwhelmed at the exceptional response he received for his campaign from his fellow Americans. As per the website, $945,442 of $850k goal have been raised by 20,123 people in 2 days. The campaign has majorly been benefited through online donations.
Omar Rachid, on his website wrote, “Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the tremendous support we’ve received. The outpouring of love, kind words, hugs, helping hands and the financial contributions are examples of the true American Spirit and Humanity at its best with donations coming in from all over the world. We’re so very much thankful and appreciative of everyone’s thoughtfulness. Any donation is greatly appreciated.”
Miscreants tried destroying the mosque earlier too when a group of them had broken into the mosque and stole away a few electronic items. In 2013 too, a man had painted ‘H8’ which he referred to the word hate. However, under the then president Obama, he was arrested unlike the recent Miscreants who arrested re still free.
Americans with this act of generosity have proven yet again humanity won’t die a silent death. Their actions are loud enough to make people believe that hatred won’t triumph in America at any cost.
