The intensity of an India-Australia test series is always high. From sledges to banters, the contest involves everything. However, all this happens mostly due to the heat of the moment between players of both sides. Media houses from either nation is never supposed to add fuel to the fire.
However, it seems that the Australian media has decided to go beyond the limits of journalism and start playing the mind games along with the Oz players. Ever since the DRS fiasco popped up, the Australian media houses has constantly targeted the Indian captain Virat Kohli with remarks least expected from a reputed Media house.
In a recent such attack on Virat Kohli, a renowned Australian newspaper, The Daily Telegraph termed Virat Kohli’s attitude ‘dictatorial’ and also compared him the American president Donald Trump.
Here is what The Daily Telegraph reported in its articles targeting Virat Kohli!
Here is an extract from the article titled ‘Virat Kohli’s Donald Trump-like contempt for the truth making mockery of the game.’
“Test captains, under the rules of the game, are supposed to be the flag-bearers for upholding the spirit of the game, yet the ICC has allowed the Indian captain to destroy one of the foundations on which the game has been played for more than a century. The fact Kohli has not been sanctioned for calling the Australians systematic cheats or his latest unfounded attack on Smith shows that he is completely untouchable. The ICC won’t fine him. Not even the BCCI, who through their broadcaster apologised to Smith, can get their skipper to tow the party line.”
Virat Kohli is India’s pride and thus getting away after insulting him is not an easy task. The Daily Telegraph was slapped surprisingly by none other than Bollywood’s pride Amitabh Bachchan. He came out in support of Virat Kohli and shutted up The Daily Telegraph perfectly with his post on Twitter.
Here is what Amitabh Bachchan tweeted in response to The Daily Telegraph’s remark on Virat Kohli!
T 2471 – Aussi media calls Virat, Donald Trump of sports !! … thank you Aussi media for accepting that he is a winner and the PRESIDENT !! pic.twitter.com/ZOoNtuhtC2

He tweeted, “Aussi media calls Virat, Donald Trump of sports !! … thank you Aussi media for accepting that he is a winner and the PRESIDENT !!”
Indeed, Sir Amitabh has shown why he is the undisputed legend of Bollywood. The series is currently level at 1-1 with the last test slated to begin this Saturday.
We hope the Indian team shuts up the Australian media with their on-field performance too. Do let us know your views about this unacceptable remark from the Australian media on Virat Kohli in our comments section below.
