Angry Khawaja & Labuschagne Confront English Spectator For Sledging Aussies During 5th Test

The Ashes series has always been a very competitive one and this year, some controversial decisions have heated the atmosphere to the maximum. Few Aussie cricketers including Usman Khawaja have already raised questions on the behaviour of the English crowd as there have been several incidents when the English crowd has sledged the Aussie cricketers.

On the third day of the ongoing fifth test match, an English spectator was yelling “boring” at each Aussie player when they were returning to the pavilion. While some ignored him, Usman Khawaja asked him to calm down but Marnus Labuschagne confronted him an angry manner. The English spectator apologized soon after he saw Marnus Labuschagne angry and Usman Khawaja took his teammate inside the pavilion.

A Twitter user named Pat McCormick shared the video with the caption, “Not quite the MCC Long Room at Lords. But @marnus3cricket and @Uz_Khawaja clearly not happy with this Englishman at the end of a frustrating day 3 for the Aussies!”

As the video went viral, there were some who started saying that the spectator was Aussie and not English. The Twitter user wrote, “Bit of debate whether old mate is Pom or Aussie. Regardless, weird behaviour considering Aus are 2-1 up. Apologies if he is Aussie. Point stands – They’re not there to play t20 cricket for the crowds pleasure. “Boring” is barely an insult but don’t melt to water when called out”.

As far as the match is concerned, the Aussies need 384 in their second innings to win the match and they have already scored 238/3 but the match has been delayed due to rain and it is the fifth day of the match.

The Aussies are leading the 5-match series by 2-1 and they are set to retain the Ashes irrespective of the result of this test match.
