Another Old Tweet Of Virat Kohli Goes Viral After India’s Exit From T20 WC 2021

The Indian cricket team will be playing its last league match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 today (8th November) against Namibia which will be played at Dubai International Stadium. Though the Indians will like to win this match, its result will not have any effect on their prospects in the tournament as they are already out of the tournament. The bleak hopes of team India entering the semi-finals got thrashed yesterday after New Zealand defeated Afghanistan by 8 wickets in a league match which was played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

India’s campaign in the T20 WC started on a very bad note as it lost its first match against the arch-rival Pakistan and it was a humiliating defeat for India as Pakistan won it by 10 wickets. What’s more, it was the first time that India got defeated by Pakistan in the World Cup tournament. The Indian team was supposed to make a strong comeback in its second match against New Zealand but it failed, in fact the Indian team management also made some poor decisions in this match for which it was slammed not just by cricket lovers but also by many former Indian cricketers.

Other than Pakistan and New Zealand, the remaining three teams which are in Group 2 with India are Scotland, Afghanistan and Namibia. It was necessary for India to win all the remaining matches with good margin in order to have a better run rate and they also needed Afghanistan to defeat New Zealand which didn’t happen so now the Indian cricketers will have to pack their bags and return home.

Amid this all, an old tweet of the Indian skipper Virat Kohli is doing the rounds in which he has written, “Going home tomorrow. Not a good feeling”.

The tweet was made by Virat in the year 2012 after the Indian squad got ousted from the Asia Cup 2012 but it fits perfectly in the present scenario as well.

Virat Kohli has already announced that he will be leaving the captaincy of India’s T20 team after the T20 WC2021 but there are also reports that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will appoint a new skipper for the ODIs as well.

Who will be the new captain of the Indian cricket team? Any guesses?
