Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were seen together in Bengaluru on Tuesday night, marking their first public appearance since Virat Kohli addressed the social media stir surrounding his Instagram activity. The sighting, which quickly gained attention online after a fan posted a video clip on Reddit, showed the couple arriving at a restaurant.
In the footage, Virat Kohli is seen stepping out of a vehicle and courteously offering his hand to Anushka, who chose to steady herself using the car instead. The two then headed into the venue, with Anushka walking slightly ahead. Both opted for casual yet stylish outfits — Virat Kohli in a simple tee and trousers and Anushka in a fashionable jumpsuit.

The video sparked a range of reactions online. Some viewers fixated on the brief moment where Anushka declined Virat’s hand, interpreting it through the lens of couple dynamics or the recent online episode. While some teased that the actress seemed upset, others downplayed the moment entirely, suggesting that such interactions were being overly scrutinised. A few users even joked that commentary about the clip was bound to spiral into exaggerated analysis.
The public interest follows Virat Kohli’s recent social media controversy after fans noticed that he had liked a post by actress Avneet Kaur, in which she was dressed in a green top and short skirt. The unexpected Instagram activity led to widespread speculation and confusion among followers.
Virat Kohli later addressed the situation through an Instagram story, stating that while clearing his feed, the platform’s algorithm may have registered an unintended interaction. Emphasising that there was no deliberate intent behind the like, he urged fans not to jump to conclusions.
However, Virat Kohli’s clarification only added fuel to the viral moment, sparking widespread meme creation across platforms. Singer Rahul Vaidya, adding to the discourse, mocked the explanation by sarcastically suggesting that any future accidental likes on his account should be blamed on Instagram’s algorithm rather than him. Kohli reportedly responded by blocking Rahul Vaidya on Instagram.
The incident escalated further when Rahul Vaidya alleged that fans of the cricketer had resorted to making derogatory remarks about women in his family. Adding to the fallout, cricketers Yuzvendra Chahal and Krunal Pandya have unfollowed the singer, subtly indicating their disapproval.
The couple’s quiet evening in Bengaluru thus comes at a time of heightened public interest and digital drama, drawing attention not only for their outing but also for the events leading up to it.
