Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz Khan will be questioned by Thane Police with regards to his involvement in IPL betting. Reports claim that when Police arrested bookie Sonu Jalan, he named Arbaaz Khan.
Thane Crime branch has asked Arbaaz to record his statement. Reports said that Arbaaz has been questioned for placing money on IPL 11 matches. He did so through bookies.
Anti-extortion cell’s senior inspector Pradeep Sharma said, “We have summoned the actor-producer to ascertain “his role in the betting racket and which shall be confirmed once his statement is recorded.”
Times Now reported that Arbaaz lost around Rs 2.8 crores in bets. After that, Jalan, a bookie, started threatening him. Thane Crime Branch has arrested 5 people as of now from a building in Dombivli.
Sonu Jalan is reported to be the main person involved in this betting. Police had first arrested Jalan in the year 2008. Pictures of Arbaaz and Jalan have also been found.
It was Jalan who named Arbaaz during interrogation. Police believes that Arbaaz has link-ups with IPL bookies and this is the reason he has been summoned.
The actor has to be present tomorrow in Thane Crime Branch before 5pm. Let’s see what the interrogation says; hope to know some more details by tomorrow.
